Kasmir Photos -Heaven on earth

India | Kashmir | Kerala | Konkan | Goa |

"A city blessed by the Gods" - Kashmir Valley is surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the world and is a land of immense natural beauty. It is also called 'Tourist Paradise on earth'.  These terms have been used to describe Kashmir, one of India’s wildest and most controversial tourist destinations. After 20 years of isolation, travellers are slowly drifting back to this legendary backwater, returning to Srinagar’s famous houseboats and walking the trekking routes north of Pahelgam. Kashmir boasts some of the highest and most rugged landscapes on earth in mountainous Ladakh, and one of the most sublime in serene Dal Lake.

The winter capital, Jammu , is a fascinating metropolis with temples and museums, while the summer capital at Srinagar is a mesmerizing sprawl of ancient wooden mosques and bobbing houseboats. In the north, the hill stations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam Ladakh.

The state is well connected with rest of the country by air, rail and road .

  • By Air: Nearest Jammu airport is 8Kms from the city centre.
Flights from Delhi and Amritsar link to all the three main regions of the state - the Kashmir Valley, Ladakh and the Jammu region.
  • By Road: National Highway 1A connects Jammu from Punjab and also to the rest of the state, including the capital Srinagar.
